POLICE officers from the Flying Squad yesterday arrested two University Teaching Hospital (UTH) doctors for protesting their carnage of four suspected bandits. The bodies of the suspected bandits were taken to the UTH brought in dead (BID) section in the afternoon.

The bodies were riddled with bullets and the casualty wing floor was covered with clotted blood and pieces of flesh. And police officers picked up two male medical personnel who expressed disgust at the manner in which the police killed the suspected bandits.

According to an eyewitness, the two medical personnel at the casualty wing said they were not happy with the way the suspected bandits were killed. This statement is said to have annoyed the police.

“The police officers said they work under difficult conditions and they expect sympathy and support from members of the public,” the eyewitness said. “At that point one of the officers asked the medical personnel to accompany them in the same vehicle they used to carry the suspected bandits and they drove off. The medical personnel were still wearing their coats and carrying stethoscopes.”
