GOVERNMENT has allocated K1.6 billion to Kabwe Trades Training Institution (KTTI) for infrastructure development. And science and technology deputy minister Lucy Changwe has expressed worry at the slow pace of rehabilitation works in learning institution. KTTI Principal Andrew Sayila disclosed this when Changwe conducted a tour of the institution. Sayila who commended the government for the infrastructure rehabilitation programme, however, stressed the need to expand the institution.

“With the increasing number of students enrolling at the institution, we need to expand the place if all the students are to be accommodated,” he said

He said accommodation was the current major challenge the institution was facing due to the increased number of people enrolling at the institution. And Changwe expressed worry at the slow pace the rehabilitation works are going in most learning institution

“This delay is not good for our progress. Therefore, contractors taking their time risk having their contracts terminated,” she said.

She gave the contractors up to next month to complete rehabilitation, failure to which their contracts would be withdrawn. Changwe also urged students to desist from vandalism because it was a drawback in development.
