Corruption fight should be stepped up – RupiahWritten by George Chellah
PRESIDENT Rupiah Banda yesterday said the fight against corruption should be stepped up. During the swearing-in ceremony of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) director general Godfrey Kayukwa and Ministry of Agriculture permanent secretary Arbednigo Banda at State House, President Banda praised Kayukwa.
"I don't have to say much...you have been working for a long time in the fight against corruption. Together with your colleagues you are called upon by the President and the country to fight this scourge, which creates so many problems for our people and which creates so many problems for our image as a country," President Banda said.
"We believe that you are mature, experienced and together with your chairman and your colleagues in the commission the fight should be stepped up so that we can reduce this corruption. We believe that we have made the right choice in you. We pray for you to be successful in your work."
