DEAR EDITOR - I have read the whole 2010 Budget document presented by Finance Minister Tendai Biti last week and have noted that the budget for defence is missing from it.
Is there any reason why the minister has left that vital ministry out? Zimbabwe is a sovereign country which needs to have a solid, professional army to defend its territorial integrity.
I would like to think that this was an oversight on the part of the minister, rather than a deliberate attempt to withold that information.
Could minister Biti care to tell us what has been budgeted for this crucial ministry?
