THE MMD will not tamper with election results this year because the PF currently has more members, according to Wynter Kabimba.

In an interview, Kabimba, who is Patriotic Front general secretary, said his party would soon train election monitors to be stationed at all the polling centres in the country.

“There is no way of tampering with the results at the polling centres by the MMD; we are training polling agents to be on the look out for anything.

We want to train them not to be signing any blank forms, they need to add up figures before signing them. They have to make sure that when they add up all the results, they tally with the votes cast,” Kabimba said.

He said in the past the country had witnessed incidents where a polling centre would record a large number of voters as compared to the number of registered voters.

Kabimba said the PF planned to have about three polling agents at every polling centre.

“We have been printing manuals which will act as guidelines for reference for these agents to be using. The first session of training will start with Lusaka, before we move to the Copperbelt for the second session,” said Kabimba.

The country is this year expected to hold general elections.
