Maximise revenue from mines

GERMANY has called on Government to ensure that the mining industry contributes sufficient resources towards to the national budget to reduce donor dependence.
Visiting Germany chancellor for Africa representative Gunter Nooke said Germany is interested in seeing that President Michael Sata’s Government succeeds in growing the Zambian economy.

Mr Nooke, who was in the country for three days, said Germany is also interested in seeing resources from the mining sector positively contribute to the national budget.

Speaking in an interview before his departure, Mr Nooke who met President Sata,
Finance and National Planning Minister, Alexander Chikwanda, Minister of Mines Wilbur Simuusa and the Civil Society, described his visit to Zambia as fruitful.

He congratulated President Sata for his victory and the Zambian people for the peaceful transition
