THE joint team of security officers investigating the plunder of resources in Rupiah Banda's regime have warned and cautioned former mines minister Maxwell Mwale and his deputy Boniface Nkhata.

According to family sources, police recorded a warn and caution statement from Nkhata on Saturday at Chama police station in connection with 20 bicycles from the ministry intended for HIV/AIDS programmes.

The sources said the bicycles were distributed to chief retainers, relatives and friends instead of the intended beneficiaries.

The sources said Mwale was also warned and cautioned yesterday at Mfuwe police station in connection with 20 bicycles, intended for HIV/AIDS programmes under the ministry.

The sources said investigators were still on the ground collecting more evidence against the duo.
