THE Church should closely watch opposition political parties that want to cause anarchy in the country, says Bishop Mwata Chikumbi. In an interview, Bishop Chikumbi of Jehovah's Kingdom Ministries said since the PF assumed power, change in the country has taken place.

He said the PF government needed the support of all Zambians to fulfil the mandate given to it by the people. He said politicians that were planning a 'punch for punch' with President Michael Sata should be aware that the Church will defend the Republican President.

"I am appealing to the Zambian people to give PF credit because since they assumed office, there is change which has taken place and as a church, we pray that we give them another mandate to govern. And the opposition political parties who are planning a 'punch for punch' with Sata should know that the church will defend him because he has the mandate to rule the country and we will watch them opposition parties until Sata fulfils his mandate," he said.

Bishop Chikumbi also said despite the current national budget being done by the MMD, the PF government has managed to execute it diligently.

"I would want to commend finance minister honorable Alexander Chikwanda for the good job he is doing at his ministry because the current budget is not for PF but for MMD and things are moving smoothly," he said.

On the current draft constitution released by the technical committee for debate, Bishop Chikumbi said it was a very progressive document.

"…As long as most clauses are maintained, it will stand the test of time," said Bishop Chikumbi.
