PEOPLE are now realising that what was said against President Michael Sata during and after the elections was all lies, says Inonge Wina. In an interview, Wina who is PF national chairperson, said Zambians were now becoming more confident of the PF ideologies. She said she was, therefore, confident that the ruling party would scoop all the by-elections scheduled for July 5, 2012.

"We stand a better chance to win the Livingstone, Chama North and Muchinga by-elections as people now understand the party's ideologies. There were a lot of misleading and maligning statements made against President Sata before and during the elections. People are now realising what was said of President Sata is wrong and a lot are now joining the party," said Wina who is also Minister of Gender.

She said the PF would, however, not relent but work hard to make the party stronger, especially at grassroots level.

Wina said President Sata's recent trip to the UK and Switzerland would enhance the investment sector as Zambia was looking for credible investors with a clean track record.

"We want to make sure that investors who come here are clean and have a good governance track record and obey our labour laws. We also would like our minister of labour to look at the labour laws and any bad laws have to be repealed," she said.

Wina said casualisation needed to be urgently addressed to provide job security for Zambian workers.

In Switzerland on Friday, President Sata said foreign investors wishing to invest in Africa should have traceable investment credentials in their home countries before they put money into the continent's business sector.

During a meeting with members of the Swiss-African Business Community held at Inter-Continental Hotel in Geneva, President Sata said foreign investors that do not have traceable credentials in their own country would lose out once they are exposed to scrutiny.
