MMD Mwandi member of parliament Michael Kaingu says his party needs a vice-president who can adequately assist Nevers Mumba in reorganizing the former ruling party before 2016.

Announcing his intention to contest the position of MMD vice-president for politics at Heritage Trail yesterday, Kaingu said the party should pick someone who would attract former members of the MMD.

He because of the PF's mistakes, the MMD needed someone who can help with the reorganization of the party.

"I am credible, I never kept anything for myself that was given to me in the Ministry of Community Development and Social Welfare," he said.

Asked about his views on the calls by some MMD youths to have Austin Liato as vice president of the party, Kaingu responded: "My main interest is to sale myself to the party and the beauty of democracy is that you can't stop people from choosing who they want, it's up to them. It is up to the people to know who is and who is not credible."

And Kaingu claimed that the PF has performed below par and that the country would be in more problems by 2016.

"The PF have just fitted in the shoes of the MMD and are messing up things left by the MMD. We can't have a government that keeps disappointing people and the public should not just leave it to us as opposition to whistle blow, they public should whistle louder," said Kaingu.
