UPND will not sit and watch its enemies destabilize it, Southern Province vice chairman John Chidyaka has declared. Announcing the expulsion of five district party officials in the Southern Province, Chidyaka said the time to clean up the party had started.
“In the last few weeks a number of our members have been defecting from our party in a scheme to try and weaken us. We are aware that there are some political parties that are hell bent on destabilizing the party hence these machinations to stage-manage defections.
These defections are nothing but a scheme aimed at creating an impression that the party is losing popularity,” he said. “As a party we will not sit and watch our enemies have a field day on our party. We are determined to nip the dirty scheme in the bud by expelling some of the perpetrators.”
Chidyaka said the provincial committee had expelled Sinazongwe district chairman Simon Siatwiinda and his committee members that include Climens Siamangani, Muchimba Malala, Eddico Siabana and Simon Sinazongwe for alleged gross indiscipline.
“Politics should be a service to the people of Zambia and those who want individual and selfish benefits will certainly fall off the way,” said Chidyaka.
