PATRIOTIC Front (PF) president Michael Sata has said he is now fit and ready to continue with politics. In a telephone interview from Johannesburg, where he was admitted to Milpark Hospital after he suffered a heart attack last week, Sata said he has been discharged from the hospital and that he has been an outpatient for the past two days. "I am feeling much better now, I am fine," Sata said.

Sata said this was the first time he had fallen sick after eight years, unlike others who have been frequenting hospitals with more serious ailments.

Sata thanked President Levy Mwanawasa, former president Frederick Chiluba, Heritage Party leader Brigadier General Godfrey Miyanda, Reform Party leader pastor Nevers Mumba, health minister Dr Brian Chituwo, health permanent secretary Dr Simon Miti and all the people that helped him when he fell sick.

He also thanked all the people who assisted in the burial of his late son Chilufya who was found dead in a suspected suicide last week.
"I thank everybody who supported me when I was sick and when my son died. I hope to join them soon," Sata said.

He said he was initially scheduled to address public meetings in Katete and Petauke over the last weekend but hoped that his party officials would convey his message.

Sata said once in a while a person's body, like a motor vehicle, needed to be serviced.

He thanked doctors from Care for Business (CfB) Clinic for attending to him when he immediately fell sick.

Sata said if he had been admitted to University Teaching Hospital (UTH), he could have ended up in a mortuary.

He said CfB was a good hospital and that if they had the equipment that was at Milpark, they could have treated him in Zambia.

He said while at Milpark Hospital, the doctors did not do anything new apart from following the diagnosis that was conducted at CfB Clinic.
Sata was evacuated to South Africa last week after he suffered a heart attack at his home.

His evacuation was done at government expense and he is expected back soon.
