LuSE share index declines

LuSE share index declines

THE Lusaka Stock Exchange (LuSE)’s all share index last week recorded a decline of 0.55 per cent to close trading at 3,912.72 points from 3,934.49 points. During the week’s trading on the stock market, a total of 3,459,267 shares were transacted in 204 trades resulting in a turnover of K7.91 billion.

Several companies registered slight reductions in their share prices, with AEL Zambia losing K103 to close at K1, 900.00 while BP Zambia closed at K801 after declining by K99.00.

National Breweries shares closed the week’s K90 weaker to K8,200; Cavmont Capital Holdings closed at K11.50 down by K0.50; Investrust dropped to K51.99 while Standard Chartered Bank closed at K500 after losing K1.00.

Zambian Breweries also recorded a drop of K9.99 in its share price and ended the week’s trading at K2, 490.00.

Transactions were also recorded in British American Tobacco, Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC), Lafarge Zambia, Zambeef Products and Zamefa.
