DEAR EDITOR – The Movement for Democratic Change is a young inexperienced party and may at this point in time make some costly blunders. I don't have a problem with Lovemore Moyo attending the UK Labour Party conference, but do however think that he must have been more cautious with his speech.

He must have tried harder not to compromise the standing of his other office and the delicately hanging relationships in the signed deal.

It's quite a complicated scenario because the party that he is in agreement with (Zanu PF) is in a very strained relationship with the British Labour Party.

His challenge was to present a speech acceptable to the MDC-T as a party, power sharing partners, integrity of Speaker of Parliament and the Labour Party conference.

My advice is MDC-T should have sent their candidate for the foreign affairs and international trade portfolio.

Lastly it's inconceivable that MDC-T as a party did not envisage the complications of honouring such an invitation, especially at this moment in time and therefore only time will judge the wisdom or lack of it.
