THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has commenced investigations into the K15 million allegedly given to National Revolution Party (NRP) president Cozmo Mumba by Vice-President Rupiah Banda. The ACC has since summoned Cozmo to appear before it today at 10:00 hours. Cozmo, yesterday disclosed that the ACC had summoned him.

"I have been summoned to appear before the ACC over the matters that have been going on in the press," said Cozmo.

Asked whether he was still maintaining that he never received the K15 million, Cozmo stated: "My position, me as Cozmo Mumba is that I never got any ngwee and I will die with that position."

However, Cozmo said he was happy that ACC had called him.

He said the ACC should mark the connections and trace the money.
"We would love in the process to establish who paid James Lukuku to publish what he did," said Cozmo.

Although ACC spokesperson Timothy Moono could not confirm whether or not his commission had summoned Cozmo, he said they had started investigations.

"Yes, we have started corruption investigations on the matter," said Moono.

Last week Thursday, former NRP secretary general James Lukuku revealed that the party under Cozmo's leadership received K15 million cash from Vice-President Banda in order for them to endorse him as their candidate in the forthcoming presidential election.
