A BOMB exploded on Monday night at the CID Headquarters at Morris Depot in Harare. Police chief spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Wayne Bvudzijena confirmed the incident, saying although the bomb damaged some sections of the building, there were no casualties.
"We confirm that a bomb exploded yesterday around 8pm at the CID Headquarters, which caused damage to walls and shattered windowpanes," Asst Comm Bvudzijena said.
He said police were investigating the incident.
In August this year, a bomb damaged the CID administration block at Harare Central Police Station while another two unexploded bombs were found on the first floor of the building, overlooking Kenneth Kaunda Avenue.
Several police officers have since been questioned in connection with the explosion, which occurred on the night of August 2.
