(TALKZIMBABWE) Independent media celebrating death, sickening

Independent media celebrating death, sickening

DEAR EDITOR – One Zimbabwean news source yesterday was in celebratory mood -- ecstatic about the death of Zanu PF political commissar, Elliot Manyika.

I am not a Zanu PF supporter, but I will never celebrate the death of anyone. This is gross irresponsibility and such media houses should be frowned upon in a civilized, progressive society.

When we criticize political leaders for their mistakes, let us make sure that we do not reflect those same people we criticize.

This is not in line with the progressive society that this news source claims it is fighting for. The same organisation has regressed on many fronts as it seeks to paint a bleak picture about Zimbabwe. I wonder how these people sleep at night.

Media houses have to make a choice whether to become the law courts, fingering individuals for crimes, or informing people. They cannot do both.

I will not mention the particular radio station (publication) here. We all know who they are and, most importantly, they know themselves.

Someone has to rise above their moral ineptitude.
