FORMER Radio Icengelo station manager Fr Frank Bwalya has said President Rupiah Banda's statement that he hates him is false and should be dismissed as the words of a fearful man.
Reacting to President Banda's statement in Livingstone during the 18th Ordinary Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Lusaka that he [Fr Bwalya] hates him, Fr Bwalya stated the head of state's statement showed nothing but pettiness.
"Mr Banda's allegations are totally unfounded and should be dismissed as words of a fearful man. It is clear to me that Mr Banda takes pleasure in publicly making malicious allegations against innocent citizens. This amounts to nothing but pettiness on his part," he stated.
"It also represents failure on his part to think big and address the various problems that our country is faced with."
However, Fr Bwalya promised to issue a comprehensive statement live on Radio Icengelo and that a copy would be sent to Muvi TV in Lusaka tomorrow.
"In my statement, I will show the pettiness of the President and his fallacious thinking. I will also raise important national issues that he should have concentrated on in Livingstone," Fr Bwalya said.
"I will also use the press conference to say bye to my supporters as station manager of Radio Icengelo. My statement will be published as a booklet for people to buy and study in their own time."
President Banda on April 24 said he had met many Catholic clergy and it seemed only Fr Bwalya hated him.
