Malawi President corrupts Police chiefs to rig polls

President Bingu wa Mutharika who has sniffed the whiff of abject failure in the next week general elections on Tuesday bribed police officers and gave instructions of rigging scheme.

Mutharika through his nephew State House staff, Chimwemwe Kajayo game all Police Commissioners K400, 000, the deputy commissioners have received K300, 000 while some senior commanding staff have pocked K200, 000.

Kajayo told the police officers that the money is coming from President Mutharika’s personal account as a “token of appreciation for a good job in the last five years.”

However, after receiving the money, the senior officers have been instructed to carry orders from ruling DPP officials on how to exchange ballot boxes with those stuffed-with votes for Mutharika.

“We have been told to help the President in the rigging scheme and another promise of salary increments has been made,” said a senior police officer.

Police tips say that Clement Kapalamula of the National Intelligence Services is working with NIS staff like Mr. G Yambani, Jimmy Potani, Marco Mvukuta, miss Chisomo Masamba, Chikondi Chavula and Mr. A Ng`ambi in stuffing the ballot papers.

These officers are residing at NIS guest wing in Blantyre.

On Tuesday, intelligence officers at central region headquarters were forced to receive a ruling DPP cape, T shirt, a cloth and everyone was supposed to sign for the materials and have since been promoted including those who had JCE were promoted to P7one of them is Mr. Kalinde

Some of the officers are working with foreigners from Zimbabwe and Zambia who are in the country to help DPP to rig the election.
