President Rupiah Banda is tomorrow morning (Wednesday, June 24) scheduled to hold a press conference at State House. The President's special assistant for press and public relations, Dickson Jere, confirmed the scheduled briefing to take place at 10:30 hours although he could not disclose what issues President Banda would be addressing.

This will be President Banda's second press conference since he took office after last year's presidential election. The first press conference was in November last year when he appointed his first cabinet.

There has been mounting pressure from all quarters of society to get President Banda’s position over several social and economic problems that have affected the country resulting into withdrawal of labour by health and education workers.
