A 22-year-old Malawian national will serve a prison sentence of 15 years in Zambia after High Court jailed him for indecent assault. According to The Post newspaper of Zambia, the Malawian is Yandikani Sunthika who committed the offence on February 18, 2008 in Nabvutika Compound. The Malawian was prosecuted in the Magistrate court but was sentenced at Lusaka High Court.
The paper reported that the victim testified in court that the Malawian boy forced his way into her bedroom and started touching her breasts. The victim said Sunthika wanted to remove her underwear but she stopped him by stepping on him after a struggle.
She said Sunthika was later apprehended by her parents.
Judge Evans Hamaundu jailed Malawian to 15 years imprisonment with hard labour.
