Rupiah is ugly – SataBy Patson Chilemba

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) president Michael Sata yesterday charged that President Rupiah Banda behaves like Satan, who doesn't care about the people. And Sata said President Banda should not mislead himself that he is more handsome because he is so ugly that he can win an ugly competition.
Reacting to President Banda's assertion that he was a son of Satan, Sata said it was only possible that an irresponsible, none caring leader like President Banda would carry the traits of Satan.
“Didn't he go to hire a big jet to go to Burundi when people are starving? He leaves the jet which Levy Mwanawasa and Frederick Chiluba left and he goes to charter something very big, just for him and his wife. And is it not him who, without giving us any reasons, the one exporting our maize when the bag of mealie-meal is K100,000 in Shangombo?” Sata asked. “It is him who has seen Satan. He behaves like Satan, he doesn't care about us.”
Sata said President Banda could not equate him to Satan, saying if his President Banda's parents were Satanists that was entirely his business.
“He can only talk about his parents, not my parents,” he said.
Sata said it was in fact President Banda who was a shameless liar for lying to the people that he Sata hid a microphone behind veteran politician Grey Zulu as he tried to urge the latter to say that the government regarded him as a criminal.
He said President Banda and his colleagues in government had failed to deny the verbatim that was carried by The Post on Zulu's true words that government regarded him as a criminal.
“Rupiah Banda, before they call me all sorts of names, why haven't they refuted the verbatim from The Post. Let Rupiah Banda, Fisho Mwale, Peter Daka and all those concerned refute the verbatim in The Post because the person whom he is calling ugly like his grandmother is Grey Zulu. The same who they are saying is a shameless liar is Grey Zulu, because all the statements came from Grey Zulu.
So Rupiah Banda has no respect for calling Grey Zulu ugly,” Sata said. “Rupiah Banda is a shameless liar. To say I took microphones and hid them behind Grey Zulu, you mean Grey Zulu is so dull that he wouldn't know that there are microphones?”
Sata said he did not politicise Zulu's funeral unless President Banda was happy that government only contributed five bags of mealie-meal and five small packets of rotten Kapenta.
He asked President Banda to just acknowledge that his greediness had made him forget about Zulu who used to be there for him during Dr Kenneth Kaunda's tenure
“The whole point is Rupiah Banda has felt the impact, has felt the impact of his brother's complaint. He has forgotten about Grey Zulu,” Sata said.
On President Banda's statement that he Sata was as ugly as his grandparent, Sata wondered who lied to President Banda that he was handsome.
“I don't know who has told Rupiah Banda he is very handsome. First of all, it is in Chitambo where he said children are scared of me. But the truth is children are more scared of Rupiah Banda's picture than me because he is more ugly than me,” Sata said.
“If we went for an ugly competition, Rupiah Banda will win. I will probably come out number two; Rupiah Banda will be number one. Me I will be number two or three, or I might not even be anywhere nearer.”
Sata said President Banda was damn scared of him, and that was the reason why he was insulting him wherever he went.
He said time was running too fast for President Banda's exit from State House.
“He is not worried about the people in his own political party because he has got very good intelligence, and the intelligence service he has got, they are telling him, sorry bwana mwaenda imwe, Sata apita kudala you are going sir, Sata has already gone through. That is his worry,” Sata said.
“He is very scared, he doesn't sleep, but I would urge him to start sleeping. I don't want him to develop high blood pressure. He is so worried, he doesn't stay in Zambia. He is always travelling. And please comrade Banda slow down because everywhere where I have not been, they will be saying Sata was here.”
Sata also asked President Banda to be careful with “PF reject” Edward Mumbi, whom he said was a very good friend of former Republican vice-president Lupando Mwape.
On Vice-President George Kunda's assertions that his record of violence was well documented, Sata challenged the government to arrest him if he had committed any crime.
He also questioned the criteria behind the choosing of three High Court judges to hear the appeal of former president Frederick Chiluba's wife, Regina, when the matter was presided over by a single magistrate.
Sata said it was only at the Supreme Court where more judges could hear an appeal.

Really the quality of leadership leaves much to be desired and in all likely hood Zambians will vote for Mr Sata but as they say " A country deserves a President they vote for and is actually a reflection of the level of intelligence"
