PATRIOTIC Front (PF) president Michael Sata has charged that Vice-President George Kunda should be arrested for failure to account for US $5 million paid into the London High Court during the hearing of plunder cases involving Frederick Chiluba.

Sata said Vice-President Kunda, in his capacity as justice minister, tricked late president Levy Mwanawasa into believing that all was well with the court proceedings in London during the hearing of former president Chiluba's cases when in actual fact he faked the representation.

Sata said the people of Zambia under financial regulation number 197 had the right to force Vice-President Kunda to refund all the money spent on him and the lawyers who accompanied him to London.

"Under financial regulation number 197, the people of Zambia are supposed to demand that Kunda should refund all the money spent on him when he purported to Levy that he represented the government of Zambia in the Chiluba case in the London High Court. He should be arrested," said Sata.

"Had Levy not died, the judgment would have been registered and executed. Levy died and the judgment is also dead. Can we have our money back? Government can then save lots of lives using the same taxpayers' money Kunda plundered."

And Sata said Vice-President Kunda had compromised the judiciary because of defending plunderers.

He said Vice-President Kunda had failed lamentably in his capacity as Vice-President, saying he was the worst among the past 16 office bearers.

"Kunda is under siege and conceitedness won't help him. He doesn't even know which side of the story he is best at, whether justice minister or Vice-President. As Vice-President, he has failed lamentably. he is the worst Vice-President so far. He has cheated. He has compromised the Judiciary to the highest level," he said.

Meanwhile, Sata advised Vice-President Kunda against confusing the nation on Chinese investment.

He said he had personally held meetings with the Chinese investors.

"George is confusing people. We don't hate the Chinese. All we have done is to ask them to respect Zambians the way they respect their nationals in China. We have met them and told them in face. Kunda does not know about this, he is completely in the dark," said Sata.

Vice-President Kunda on Sunday on a Radio Phoenix programme alleged that the PF was against Chinese investment in Zambia.
