(TALKZIMBABWE) MDC-T suffering from selective amnesia

MDC-T suffering from selective amnesia

THE MDC-T party is benefitting from the selective amnesia of a voting population that has been inundated with unchecked and uncontrolled propaganda pieces from most Western media spaces. Sooner or later, too much propaganda (lies) will become unproductive to that party.

It is often said that you tell a lie many times, people start believing it. There is, however, a threshold for this.

The MDC-T party had been lying to Zimbabweans that it has no media space to channel its party policies. Besides not having any tangible policies, the party and its Western backers benefits from all the new media spaces.

A lot of people do not really know what that party stands for; except the protection of erstwhile colonisers and campaigning for one thing or the other: Bennett, governor posts, ambassadorial posts and responsibilities in the ICT ministry.

Many Zimbabweans would be hard-pressed to pinpoint one policy proposal from the MDC-T party. Finance Minister Tendai Biti simply adopted a Zanu PF blueprint (written by former Acting Finance Minister Patrick Chinamasa) and campaigned to make it his own. He somewhat succeeded, and even got a best Finance Minister in Africa gong for that.

The internet, Western TV stations, Western radio broadcasts and other radio broadcasts from the region, especially South African and Botswana all support the MDC-T and its leader Morgan Tsvangirai.

This is a fact, not fiction. Zanu PF does not benefit from any of these spaces, even ZBC has a fair share of MDC-T broadcasts. You have to be in Zimbabwe, though, to know this. MDC-T spokesman Nelson Chamisa and other toxic characters like Douglas Mwonzora, etc are regulars on ZTV.

Yet they claim that there is no MDC-T party broadcasts and that Zanu PF controls all the media space.

Zimbabweans are, however, inundated with a lot of fake or fictional stories about the goings-on in Zimbabwe and the MDC-T party has failed to take advantage of their broadening new media space.

They are all intoxicated by their, and their western supporters', propaganda.

They have used that propaganda to misinform and lie to Zimbabweans.

For instance last year PM Tsvangirai and finance minister Tendai Biti said they had "friends" in the West and these friends would give them money for civil servant salaries.

The MDC-T party has never been taken to task over this lie. There are just too many lies for the crowd to keep up.

British Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary, David Miliband, revealed the MDC-T hand in sanctions and the news spread like veld fire, yet the blinded MDC-T supporters missed this important piece of news.

Simply put, both the MDC-T party leadership and its supporters are suffering from selective amnesia, deliberately "forgetting" their lies to the Zimbabwean people.

They are also getting intoxicated by too much information, that is not properly handled by their information offices. The case of Dr Chihombori and many other examples are testament to this.

Sooner or later their love of too much information, coupled with a lack of protocol and discipline in the party, will become counterproductive. The signs are definitely there.
