CENTRAL Province PF information and publicity secretary Mutale Walichupa has condemned the reduction of farming inputs for small-scale farmers under the Farmer Input Support Programme FISP from the previous eight to the current four.

Addressing a meeting aimed at sensitising communities on the PF manifesto in Kapiri Mposhi’s Chibwe area on Friday, Walichupa said it would not be surprising in the near future to see President Rupiah Banda’s government further reduce the number of fertiliser bags to two and eventually nil.

Walichupa said in its initial stages, the ruling MMD was working well but in the long run, greediness and selfishness crept into the party leaders’ minds and started stealing public funds.

The meeting was initially supposed to be graced by PF secretary general Wynter Kabimba, but he could not do so due to the bereavement within the party in Lusaka.

It was however attended by PF-UPND pact members from Kampumba, Chan’gondo and Kakwelesa wards.

Earlier, Kapiri Mposhi PF district chairman Bwalya Nkula expressed disappointment with President Banda’s reference to UPND president Hakainde Hichilema as a son of the dog, saying the language was not befitting a Republican President.

And PF member of central committee John Chisanga bemoaned the high levels of illiteracy in rural areas and lack of jobs for youths.

He further charged that the local authority in Kapiri Mposhi had given checkpoints to MMD cadres who were collecting levies and pocketing the money.
