Insufficient funding halts voter registration in Monze

MONZE District Voter Education Committee (DVEC) has with immediate effect resolved to discontinue sensitising and mobilising people for the voter registration exercise currently underway in the district as a result of insufficient funding from ECZ.

And Police in Monze have threatened to quit the voter registration exercise if their allowances are not reviewed in line with the new guidelines and demands by police.

According to the resolutions at a meeting held on Tuesday, DVEC Monze resolved that they would not return to work until the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) reviewed the allowances and increase the budgetary allocation.
