It's not about Biti, but his ideas

AS we are aware that sanctions have destroyed Zimbabwe, they need a special and vigorous mention and emphasis in the Mid-Term Fiscal Policy Review presented by Finance Minister Tendai Biti.

A softly softly approach will not remove the sanctions. They must be condemned at every opportune time.

Biti missed a real opportunity to make a difference for the country and his political career too. That omission alone discredits Minister Biti to the hilt and whoever helped him create such a misconfigured construct with such grave omissions.

Minister Biti's review assumes there are no sanctions at all and makes a very thickly disguised mention of the embargo. Zimbabwe's economy cannot improve and the reason is sanctions, sanctions, sanctions.

This is not about Mr Biti the person, but the policies he promulgates that triggers such strong reactions.

Mr Biti should simply tell the truth period.
