Grace Muyangana, Barotse Freedom Movement (BFM) national coordinator, has dismissed veteran politician Sikota Wina’s claim that Western Province currently received “a fair share of the national cake” as a lie. Muyangana said Wina’s remarks were shameful.
“It’s very shameful because what I know here is that there is no road from Mongu to Kalabo. You can’t stand on a promise,” Muyangana said. She said Wina and his wife princess Nakatindi were protecting their interests because they were eating with the MMD.
“I understand those people, they know what they did here. We are here and we are the ones who know the poverty of Western Province. They Winas are enjoying there,” said Muyangana.
And there was jubilation around Mongu town when the state discontinued the case where Muyangana and four others were charged with riotous conduct pertaining to issues around the Barotseland Agreement of 1964.
When the matter came up before the Mongu magistrate’s court for commencement of trial, the court presided over by a magistrate Kongwa informed the accused persons that the matter had been discontinued.
Later in an interview, Muyangana said the BFM agreed with PF leader Michael Sata’s decision to camp in Western Province for about two months to help the people to fight for the restoration of the Barotseland Agreement.
