PRESIDENT Rupiah Banda says young people should sensitise others on the dangers of HIV/AIDS pandemic.
Speaking to journalists at Lusaka International Airport shortly before departure for a three-day-state visit to South Africa, President Banda said government was ready to fight together with Zambians and provide resources to assist those already afflicted with HIV and AIDS.
He said he was happy that the Zambian people were becoming aware (of the dangers of AIDS) as evidenced by the improved statistics.
President Banda said the young people should sensitise others on the dangers of the pandemic.
“Some of us are old enough. We can ignore this fight. But I think you know what it has done to our country so far,” said President Banda.
On his trip, President Banda said he would use the visit to concretise the agreements which were signed when South African President Jacob Zuma visited the country.
