LUSAKA Province MMD youth chairperson Chris Chalwe has threatened to block Judith Kapijimpanga from attending the party convention if she continues ‘attacking the President’.
Reacting to national executive committee (NEC) member Kapijimpanga's statement that she would continue speaking out on the violence perpetuated by Lusaka Province MMD chairman William Banda, Chalwe yesterday said it was their duty as youths and members of the defence and security wings of the party to block people like Kapijimpanga.
“As you come to the convention, you need to ensure that you are in good books with the party. If I were her, I would call William Banda and iron out the differences that might be there instead of rushing to the press,” Chalwe said.
Kapijimpanga recently said William Banda should be caged in order to have a violence-free 2011 general election.
But MMD acting national secretary Chembe Nyangu described as nonsense Kapijimpanga's statement on William Banda, saying the latter had every right to defend President Rupiah Banda’s interests.”
