A'zambezi River Lodge
VICTORIA FALLS REPORTER
A’ Zambezi River lodge closed Tuesday for the next three months for renovations that will turn the hotel into a four star facility, Rainbow Tourism Group commercial director Mr Godfrey Pasipanodya has said.
The hotel is on the Zambezi River bank in Victoria Falls. Mr Pasipanodya said 50 percent of the renovations were complete.
“We are upgrading A’ Zambezi hotel to a four star from a two star. We are looking ahead as we anticipate more business this year as we are penetrating new markets like the Hungarian market,” he said.
“The hotel has been closed so that refurbishments do not interfere with
clients.”
He said the hotel was operating during the festive season adding that the final guests checked out last week.
The upgrading process will also see the construction of a new bar that will be overlooking the Zambezi River, a teak decking that can accommodate 100 people and a new restaurant for a la carte dishes.
“There is a team in Victoria Falls right now working on modalities which include the official opening date and other logistics,” he said.
Some of the employees will be sent to other RTG hotels for the duration of the renovations.-Chronicle
