DUNAVANT Zambia says it will strive to achieve a balance between genders to support its cotton farmers across the country.

In a statement to mark International Women’s Day, Dunavant Zambia managing director Nigel Seabrook said his company would continue to provide competent, quality and experienced staff and distributors of both genders and would train them to get better yields.

Seabrook said Dunavant had a policy of ensuring there was no discrimination on the basis of gender in its dealings with Zambian cotton farmers.

“Dunavant very much recognises the importance of all farmers but, on this occasion of International Women’s Day, looks to specifically reward our better women farmers,” Seabrook said.

“Dunavant is delighted to be giving its ‘top 90 women farmers’ a cell phone each in recognition of their contribution to its operations as part of this year’s International Women’s Day celebrations,” he said.
