SECRETARY to the Cabinet Dr Joshua Kanganja says access to the Cathedral of the Holy Cross for Frederick Chiluba’s funeral service and burial at Embassy Park today will be strictly by card.

Dr Kanganja yesterday stated that people without cards should stay at home and follow the proceedings at the Cathedral and Embassy Park on television as both events would be broadcast live. He stated that giant screens would be positioned at Lusaka Showgrounds for public viewing of the proceedings.

“It is necessary that order, solemnity and decorum prevail during the last day of national mourning. Embassy Park will be open to the general public immediately after the end of the burial programme,” stated Kanganja.

Meanwhile, foreign affairs minister Kabinga Pande confirmed that Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) President Joseph Kabila, DRC’s Katanga Province governor Moses Katumbi, Zimbabwe’s Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, former president of Tanzania Benjamin Mkapa and other foreign dignitaries would attend Chiluba’s burial.

Ministers will lead delegations from Malawi, South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique and Rwanda.
