GEORGE Mpombo says the MMD must start preparing handover notes now that the Patriotic Front has taken over Lambaland.

In an interview after he received former MMD Ibenga ward councillor Lazarus Mulabi and 38 others who defected to the opposition Patriotic Front, Mpombo said the defection of so many people to the PF was a clear illustration that MMD was headed for the biggest political Armageddon.

“Our meeting today has sent firing shots at the MMD and also ripped off that which Mr Banda has held that he owns Copperbelt rural,” said Mpombo.

He said MMD was beyond redemption and that the so-called last-minute unprecedented development was not serving any purpose.

“These impromptu developments whose funding remains a mystery have in fact disadvantaged Mr (Rupiah) Banda so much. Because it’s like the country currently has two budgets; the one we approved as Parliament and the one specifically for Mr. Banda which will wreck people’s lives in future if he is not stopped now,” Mpombo said.

He said President Rupiah Banda had no political pundits to advise him and that was why he was using comedians, musicians and mega-media machines to try and bring children to increase numbers at his meetings.

“They should just start preparing handover notes because PF’s entry into this region is the biggest disaster on the part of MMD,” said Mpombo.

Others from UPND and FDD also surrendered their parties’ membership cards.
