The Muslim community in Bulangililo is saddened by the burning of its mosque by suspected Bulangililo and Kapoto residents.

Suspected Bulangililo residents run amok yesterday stoning and setting the mosque on fire. Property worth undisclosed amounts of money was destroyed and the Holy Book the Quran burnt to ashes.

Narrating the ordeal to Flava FM News the Muslim congregants said the suspected residents stormed the mosque and started throwing stones after which they set it on fire.

They explained that police who were present at the scene looked on hopelessly
The congregants however wondered why the people targeted the mosque but only wished for Gods vengeance.

Meanwhile, there was commotion at the mosque this morning when a man was found loitering at the mosque with items belonging to the mosque.

The man is suspected to be among the people that set the mosque ablaze.

Islam Supreme council of Zambia National spokesperson Imam Sidique Kaputula who was present at the scene demanded that the suspect accompany them to the police station where he would explain himself.
