MMD Chimwemwe losing parliamentary candidate Ronald Manenga says the PF government is now a people's government and it should be supported. In an interview, Manenga said there was no need to even doubt the calibre of the Cabinet ministers that have been appointed.

"They are competent people that are capable of serving the country with diligence. With good policies in place, this country will continue moving forward," Manenga said.

"The PF is now a party in government and it has now become a people's government. We are all Zambians regardless of our political affiliations and we need to work together."

Manenga said the PF won the elections because of its good manifesto. He said it was indisputable that the PF was highly organised and sold itself well to the majority citizens that voted for change.

He said many people had already resolved to vote against the MMD. Manenga said time had come for members of now the opposition MMD and the ruling PF to work together to foster the much-needed development in the country.

He said many Zambians were inspired by the PF government's road-map of developing the country by eradicating poverty, fighting corruption, upholding the rule of law, employment creation and many other rich policies that could enhance good governance in the country.

Manenga said it would be wrong for anybody to solely blame former president Rupiah Banda over the MMD's loss in the elections as the party was convincingly defeated.

"Time for change came and people changed government because it was their resolve. Nobody can stop the wind of change if people have decided, and that's what happened. We should not start finger-pointing and blaming individuals like former president Rupiah Banda because we lost collectively as a party," Manenga said.

He further pledged to partner with the elected member of parliament for Chimwemwe Constituency Mwenya Musenge to deliver the much-needed development in the area.

Manenga said it was now time for President Michael Sata and the PF government to deliver the good governance system which he promised the nation in the 10 years he was in opposition.

He said Zambia was currently enjoying the status of the 10th best-performing nation in Africa; hence the need for the PF to work extra hard to push the agenda of economic prosperity.
