Negotiators from parties to the Global Political Parties yesterday met ahead of a high-level meeting between South African President Jacob Zuma's facilitation team and party principals next week. Zanu-PF negotiator Cde Patrick Chinamasa, yesterday confirmed the meeting held at a secret location in Harare. He said the meeting would continue on Monday.

"We met today in an exercise to choose issues that should be on the agenda when the facilitation team and negotiators meet next week," he said.

President Mugabe, Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and Deputy Prime Minister Arthur Mutambara are scheduled to convene the meeting on Wednesday next week. The meeting would be attended by the facilitation team of Mr Mac Maharaj, Mr Charles Nqakula and Ms Lindiwe Zulu in preparation for President Zuma's visit.

Minister Chinamasa said: "We expect to be joined by the facilitation and work on and agree on issues that need to be ironed out in the forthcoming meetings."
He insisted that Zanu-PF was calling off discussions on the forum of negotiators saying it had failed to yield results.

"We are not discussing new issues and we cannot continue talking without implementing the agreements," he said.

The negotiators, in their previous meeting with the facilitation team early this month, agreed that President Zuma convenes a meeting with the GPA principals, their negotiators and the facilitation teams to bring finality to the implementation of the agreement.
