DORA Siliya says she cannot be intimidated by Felix Mutati as she represents the views of MMD members whenever she speaks about the party.

Mutati had described as a "tackle from behind" Siliya's statement last week that the former commerce minister's globe-trotting contributed to MMD's loss in last year's elections.

But Siliya said Mutati should apologise to the party leadership for bringing its name into ridicule.

She said she would continue speaking on behalf of the party regardless of who was offended.

She said she was not a presidential candidate and had nothing to fear for the statement she issued because that was what members expected from her.

"I am challenging Mutati to demand an apology from The Post if he was misquoted. If The Post misquoted him, I will be the first one to say sorry for the accusation. His response won't change facts that he didn't organise the party in his constituency and that's why we lost the presidential vote there," said Siliya.

Mutati's was not readily available for comment by press time as his mobile phone was switched off.

Sources said Mutati told some MMD members that he was misquoted by The Post on his statement that Siliya had 'tackled' him from behind.

During a card renewal exercise in Southern Province recently, Mutati said the MMD lost the September 20 elections because leaders were consumed in luxury and government paid up expenses.

But Siliya said Mutati's globe-trotting contributed to the party's loss. Siliya said it was good that Mutati had confessed because he was one of the ministers that failed to organise the party.
