DR Kenneth Kaunda says President Michael Sata is a great boy. In an interview after touring Indeni Oil Refinery in Ndola yesterday, Dr Kaunda said Zambians should support President Sata because he (Dr Kaunda) trusted him.
"For me PF is Plan Forward and this is what President Sata and the PF government are doing. President Sata loves all Zambians. He is a great boy, a great boy of Zambia," he said.
He said although President Sata was tough, he was hard-working and held all Zambians in high regard. Dr Kaunda said President Sata loved all Zambians because he was ruling the country based on God's commandments.
Dr Kenneth Kaunda said President Sata was an honest and trustworthy person. He urged opposition political leaders in the country to stop insulting each other through the press as that would not build the nation.
"Continue supporting President Michael Sata, I trust that young man. When he went into office, he sent me to Angola to go and put things right there. Ba Chiluba (late president Fredrick Chiluba) when he was president, he started supporting the UNITA in Angola and things were bad between Angola and Zambia.
President Sata knew what Chiluba had done and sent me to Angola to make things right because he had trust in me. I went there and informed them that President Sata was a good and honest man and there is now peace between Angola and Zambia because of President Sata," he said. Dr Kaunda said President Sata was a great son of Zambia and that he held the future of Zambia if only people supported him. Dr Kaunda said President Sata was young and hard-working and that he was bringing back the companies that were destroyed by the people who wanted to destroy his (Dr Kaunda) name.
"Sata is bringing back all the companies that I formed that were destroyed by Chiluba because he wanted to destroy my name. In spite of what he did, I never hated him because vengeance belongs to God. Chiluba went through free education and the same free education made him to go to school but he himself forgot about it," he said. And Dr Kaunda said he was not pleased with the current political tension in the country and urged opposition political leaders to stop insulting each other and to rather learn effective dialogue.
He said politicians should love one another despite belonging to different political parties. "Love one another, opposition political leaders should learn to talk, meet and discuss matters together, insulting each other in the press is not the best way to build Zambia," said Dr Kaunda.
