VICE-PRESIDENT Dr Guy Scott says Rupiah Banda will never return to power. Speaking when he addressed a public rally at Ken Community School yesterday, Vice-President Scott urged the electorate in the area not to be confused by people who are saying PF wants to bring confusion.

"I know Rupiah Banda is your son but I just want to tell you that there will be no comeback for him, so you have to move forward with PF," he said.

Speaking earlier at Gaven Basic School in Katete, Vice-President Scott urged the electorate not to be cheated that the PF did not know what it was doing for the country.

He advised the audience to vote for David Phiri, who is recontesting the Mkaika parliamentary seat on the PF ticket after resigning from the MMD to join the ruling party.

Vice-President Scott said Phiri was the first member of parliament to have ditched the MMD to join the PF and recontest the seat.

"Your member of parliament has brought all these projects; don't throw him away. He resigned because he wants to be part of government. He could have stayed on for three years but he chose to take the courageous route of retiring from the MMD to join the PF. This man has a heart for you, don't throw him away," said Vice-President Scott.

During the same meeting, works and supply deputy minister Mwimba Malama said the PF wanted to change the face of the country and pledged that the party would ensure that all the projects it had embarked on were completed.

Meanwhile, Phiri said he left the MMD because he wanted to take development to the constituency.

Phiri said without the PF, the developmental projects that had been initiated in the area would not have been realised.

The Mkaika parliamentary by-elections are scheduled fo this Thursday.
