PARTICIPANTS to the Tripoli African Union meeting have resolved that there is need to establish a strong and united Africa. According to the Tripoli declaration signed on Thursday, the participants stated that the main and real stand in Africa was unity and not fragmentation.

“United Africa is the reality of this continent, the divided Africa has no historical root, and it was used as bases formed by enemies of Africa in order to weaken them and to control it,” read the communiqué.

The communiqué stated that the meeting fastened the struggle throughout implementing the wealth of Africa for the development of the continent and for the people themselves.
They stated that Africa had its potential energy, which differentiated it from others.

“While the African union is recording the establishment of legal and legislative institutions in such a short time, the result cannot be distinguished by Africans themselves until these institutions are completed; from this point, Africans are calling for forming the united government side by side leading to the establishment of the African parliament and the African Bank,” stated the communiqué.
The meeting also discussed the ways and means to go forward to achieve the unity of Africa and strengthen its administration.

The delegates stated that parliamentarians had to speed up work on the African Parliament to approve the amendments, which were done on the constitutional act and the joint defence treaty.

“The parliamentarians have also to encourage their governments to complete and accomplish the United States of Africa,” read the communiqué.
