NORTH Western Province UPND Youth chairman Victor Lumayi has said that Patriotic Front president Michael Sata’s language is too annoying to tolerate. Reacting to Sata’s recent statement that Kanyama Constituency does not need a clinic but a hospital because its population was bigger than that of Solwezi district, Lumayi advised Sata to do his politics correctly. He said Sata was fond of issuing derogatory remarks about people of North Western Province and the people in the province considered him their enemy.

“Last time when Sata came to North Western Province by then in MMD, he told the people that they will be behind forever ‘as the way buttocks are behind’. This statement annoyed people of North Western and have been annoyed ever since and this time around he has annoyed us once again,” he said.

“Mr. Sata your language is too annoying, and in fact let us tell you; your advice to (former president) Chiluba and the government, when you were in power were meant to destroy North Western Province. Remember under Dr Kaunda’s leadership, Kansashi Mine in its operations had constructed a big school, a compound with a lot of houses, a clinic and other infrastructure. What did you do when you were on the decision making table? You liquidated Kansashi Mine to a company you knew had a programme to destroy the entire infrastructure which was there and also the same company demolished all the houses, the school and everything which existed and left Kansashi a bushveld,” Lumayi said.

“Is it normal to consider Kanyama, a constituency to a provincial headquarters like Solwezi? What did he mean? When he was minister of health, what did he do for North Western Province? Is it that he never wanted the province to develop and that it pains him that development is rapidly taking place?

Today, there is life in Kansashi Mine and life in North Western is booming and it pains you to see this. Your statement that people of North Western Province are behind like buttocks is now catching up with you and the buttocks are now in front.”
He advised Sata to focus on real issues.

He also said Sata would never get votes from the province if he continued being antagonistic to it.
