People are not ignorant, Tsvangirai

EDITOR — MDC-T has always been a rebel grouping sponsored to destabilise our country. They have always peddled lies about the situation in Zimbabwe to please their British handlers. It is time that everyone looks at MDC-T beyond their present political posturing to see the destructive mission they have been employed to achieve. If MDC-T had achieved the British terms of reference, all achievements and establishments of African governments were going to be in trouble. Tsvangirai cannot face his handlers after what they call a near miss.

Now for the first time after being coined as the re-colonisation surrogate he has been visiting every Southern African state but when he formed MDC he was baptised in the Western capitals. Does he think that these African leaders can buy his cheap politicking?

MDC-T has been changing statements like nobody’s business. One day they are ready for a run-off and the next they are afraid to lose so they cannot participate. If they are serious about wanting to govern this country, they must submit themselves to democratic processes. If no contest achieves the required clear majority, then let us follow what the Constitution provides.

As in soccer, Tsvangirai must know that a score is when the ball has rolled its circumference across the goal line. Also the scorer must not be in an offside position. Teams must not be accused of match-fixing. In Tsvangirai’s case, his team is accused of corrupting match officials, trying to score from an offside position and celebrating a goal before the ball crosses the line. Tsvangirai must understand the rules of the game even with his moderate educational background.

If the poor fellow has not achieved his dreams, then he must tell his handlers the truth and do the honourable thing to contest or quit. MDC-T called a stayaway which flopped yesterday. MDC-T has hired thugs throughout Harare to try and stop peace-loving Zimbabweans from going about their business.

Our people are not as ignorant as Tsvangirai and company; they will not submit to stupid ideas intended to further destroy our economy which has resiliently soldiered on despite illegal sanctions. Many people know the intention of these stayaways is anarchy and I can bet with my last dollar Tsvangirai will fail again this time.

It is time Tsvangirai denounces the illegal sanctions for him to be relevant to the politics of the country.

The economic violence that Tsvangirai and his handlers have caused to our country will hound him for the rest of his life.

P. Togarepi.
Harare.
