ZAMBIA has called on the world to support Zimbabwe's inclusive Government in its efforts to mend its economy and curb the current humanitarian crisis.
The Zambian President, Rupiah Banda said every nation had an obligation to support Zimbabwe because the leadership had shown a propensity to work together.
"Every nation has an obligation to support this inclusive Government. Zimbabwe has found the ability to solve their own problems," Banda said at the opening of Zimbabwe's International Trade Fair in the second city of Bulawayo.
"It is an obligation of every nation to support Zimbabwe rather than continue isolating it and making people suffer."
Western nations have cut off most financial ties to Zimbabwe for almost a decade.
The main political parties, Zanu PF and the MDC in February formed an inclusive Government aiming to restore stability, but western donors have adopted a wait-and-see approach.
Zambia's late president Levy Mwanawasa was one of the few African leaders to openly criticise President Mugabe's administration calling ZImbabwe "a sinking Titanic".
Banda, who was elected after Mwanawasa's death last year, has made few public remarks about Zimbabwe.
Southern African countries have rallied around the inclusive Government and tried to sway western donors to help in securing 8.5 billion dollars Zimbabwe needs over three years to jump start the economy.
African nations have so far offered 400 million dollars in credit lines.
