(TALKZIMBABWE) Mzembi snub undermined Tsvangirai's mission
Mzembi snub undermined Tsvangirai's missionTue, 16 Jun 2009 18:35:00 +0000
WHAT president Barack Obama does is up to him and his country's foreign policy but as a Zimbabwean, I think he was wrong to exclude a member of the delegation (Zanu PF member and Tourism Minister Walter Mzembi) from attending a meeting with him at the White House.
Such actions will only create more diplomatic headaches than solutions for our prime minister in his commendable effort to delicately balance the political relations in the inclusive Government.
Simple fact is the inclusive Government is representative of Zimbabweans and a snub of their representative is their snub.
A snub of our prime minister is a snub of Zimbabwe because he represents Zimbabweans.
That was personal and uncalled for because the ultimate success of the tour is measured by what Zimbabwe, as represented by the delegation, will get not how warmly or coldly part of the delegation was received.
Let's put on our national caps when reasoning out these issues.
