ACTING PRESIDENT Joice Mujuru has sent a message of condolence to Mrs Alice Nkomo, a commissioner in the Anti-Monopolies and Anti-Corruption Commission, following the sudden death of her son, Khumbulani Joseph Msipa, in London, on Monday.

The late Msipa, who was a nephew to Vice President John Nkomo, died after collapsing at his home.

"It is with a deep sense of shock and sorrow that I learnt of the sudden death of your beloved son, Khumbulani Joseph Msipa, who collapsed and passed away on the 28th of December, 2009 in London, United Kingdom," said Acting President Mujuru.

"May I, on behalf of the Government and people of Zimbabwe and myself convey my deepest sympathy, empathy and sadness. Death is never easy and is even more difficult to accept when it’s so sudden.

"May you and your family take comfort in the knowledge that we are with you in our thoughts and prayers during this trying time," she added. Mr Msipa was born in Insiza on December 11, 1969 and was the second son in a family of six. He was an artist and specialised in painting.

He is survived by his wife Carol and four children and another son from a previous relationship.

According to a family spokesperson burial arrangements would be announced after his body is repatriated from the UK at the end of the week.

Mourners are gathered at House Number 8, Uxbridge Road, Bluffhill in Harare.
