NAKONDE district in Northern Province has had no power for four days following a serious electrical fault at the Zesco sub station. Nakonde district commissioner Edwin Sinyinza confirmed the development in an interview with the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Nakonde yesterday.
Sinyinza said the fault at the Zesco substation, which has entered day four today has greatly affected the supply of water in the entire district.
A snap survey carried by ZANIS revealed that people were now depending on shallow wells and scoops along the riverbanks for the supply of water.
