MKUSHI Patriotic Front (PF) district chairman Emmanuel Sinkonde has warned that the MMD would be walloped in all the two constituencies in the 2011 election. Kicking off the party's ward elections in Mkushi South constituency on Saturday, Sinkonde said the days when the ruling party took people for granted were long gone.

He said no amount of scheming from the ruling party would stop their party president from contesting the 2011 election.

“The MMD has taken it for granted that they will always have it in Mkushi district. Now, we have started mobilising ourselves through internal elections as directed by our party leadership. If people who are highly educated in urban areas can support Mr Sata, what about us? Why does this district always make Mr Sata fail elections?” Sinkonde asked.

“Kabwe has always supported our party, and now it's our turn as Mkushi residents to make sure the party wins next year. Sydney Chisanga Mkushi South MMD member of parliament has totally failed. As I speak, he was here even this morning but he can't face anyone. They MMD have cheated us enough, now it's our turn to react and send them where they belong. I urge you to ensure you obtain National Registration Cards and then register as voters next year. This will empower us to kick out this corrupt and inefficient government.”

And Sinkonde vowed that no amount of scheming from the ruling party and the National Constitutional Conference would stop PF leader Michael Sata from contesting next year's election.

“Those people at the NCC are busy cheating themselves that it's degrees that make people good leaders, it's wrong! Leadership comes from God and the knowledge we acquire just adds up to what God has already put in us. Remember in the book of Jeremiah, God says 'I chose you from your mother's womb'. It doesn't say I gave you a degree, no,” he said.

“But whatever schemes our colleagues at the NCC and in the ruling party have, ba Sata will stand next year. And if really degrees give intelligence, why are they so afraid of a person they call a grade four? Today, we have Rupiah Banda with a degree in State House, but look at our economy.

We have a poorly-managed economy. Why can't he use his degree to manage the affairs of the country properly?”
