Resettlement and commercial farming areas are set to benefit from the rehabilitation of vandalised equipment by a local company, Tacshen Investments.

Handing over 0,8-mm gourge tobacco flue curing pipes to Mashonaland East Provincial Governor and Resident Minister Aeneas Chigwedere for onward transmission to farmers in Marondera last week, Tacshen marketing manager Ms Lynett Chidyama-tamba said they hoped this would result in bigger tobacco yields in the coming season.

"We have been and will continue to work with the Zimbabwe Commercial Farmers Union.

"One of our major aims is to help rehabilitate vandalised equipment in resettlement areas," said Ms Chidyamatamba.

She said the company prioritised helping small-scale farmers with infrastructure.

Tacshen specialises in agro-equipment and chemicals.

Governor Chigwedere welcomed the donation and expressed hope that their partnership with ZCFU will continue bearing fruit.

ZCFU vice president Mr Nicholas Chipaundi hailed the gesture.

Mr Chipaundi thanked the company for giving farmers affiliated to ZCFU discounts when buying from them.
