The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) had recorded a warn and caution statement from PF leader Michael Sata in connection with his alleged involvement in the US$100,000 transaction at finance bank. The outspoken opposition leader arrived at DEC offices in Lusaka at around 10:00 hours in the company of his lawyers WM Kabimba and company.

This is part of the ongoing investigation on the allegation by former PF secretary general Edward Mumbi that Mr. Sata paid his sympathizer Fr. Frank Bwalya US$100,000 to purchase vehicles meant for the red campaigns against the MMD government.

Meanwhile police this morning fired teargas canisters to disperse dozens of Patriotic Front cadres who accompanied Mr. Sata to the DEC offices.

This happened when a number of PF cadres who waited for Mr. Sata’s arrival at the commission demanded the police to open the entry gate into the premises.

Shortly after Sata arrived, the cadres who were increasing in numbers starting started struggling with the police to open the gate forcing the officers to start whipping them.

This angered the hundreds of cadres who started fighting back causing chaos at the premises as the PF leader forcefully made entry into the offices.

And Kafulafuta MMD rebel member of parliament George Mpombo today frantically threw his support behind Mr. Sata when he accompanied him though out the procession.
